Natural Flavor Enhancing System
Applications for Reduced Sugar and Low Glycemic Products

industry.One product that Amax NutraSource
has worked extensively with for the
past five years is a powdered extract of the fruit known as Luo Han
Guo
which grows in China. Luo Han Guo possesses intense sweetness
characteristics which can be formulated to use in a wide range of food
and
beverage applications including ice cream, tortillas, baked goods,
 pastries
and pizza dough. Because of our history in working with this fruit,
Procter
& Gamble selected us to manufacture and distribute a liquid version of
the
product in March of 2002 which we continue to market.
Luo Han Guo extract powder by itself can be
difficult to use in food andbeverage applications without the proper masking agents and othercomplementary ingredients. After working with a food technology
company for over one year, a “Natural Flavor Enhancing System”
was
developed which has “user friendly” applications in the food and
beverage industries and which is approximately three times sweeter
than sucrose. Luo Han Guo is a key ingredient in this flavoring
system
which is all natural, reduced in sugar content and has low glycemic
characteristics.
Pomegranate Extract
We are pleased to
offer our new Pomegranate extract, standardized to Punicalagins
α
and
β as
well as total polyphenols. Suitable for functional food and
beverages, nutraceutical as well as cosmetic applications, this high
antioxidant extract has received a great deal of clinical research
and has been shown to be effective in many areas.
Our
Pomegranate extract, standardized to 40% Punicalagins
α and
β is tested and confirmed in independent lab analysis via HPLC. This
fruit ellagitannin has been indicated as the major antioxidant
polyphenol group found within the pomegranate rind.
