Valeriana Plant Parts Used : Rhizome or rootstock
The plant is a perennial herb with a thick horizontal rootstock; the white or pinkflowers are in inflorescences in a corymb and are often unisexual. The irregular shape of the rootsl rhizome is quite characteristic.
